Looking up at the Tree of Life

Over and over, I say to myself, "this tree is an astonishing work of art".   This great perspective photo was taken September, 1998, a hot day which was so humid you can see the humidity in this photo.   You can also see entwined on the tree, a lion, a rearing horse above, a dragon-like animal just under the lion, a spider on the left, birds on the left and right, on the left a camel, and more.

Asiatic lions are endangered and African lions are becoming increasingly rare outside protected areas as the human population grows. Lions are seen as a threat to livestock such as cattle and are shot or poisoned. As scavengers, lions will also pick up poisoned meat meant for other harmful predators.
