It was raining so hard at this point that everything was a blur; if you look close you can see the torrents of water coming down. I don't know about Ostriches and rain, but they didn't appear to mind it; they just seemed to be determined to sit it out. This Ostrich is so wet you can see the water running off and his black feathers are so we they look like polished onyx.When motivated, Ostriches can run 40 mph. Their eggs weigh about 3 pounds each and contain a volume of 3 pints, a quart and a half! Working in shifts, the Female incubates the eggs during the day and the male sits on them at night.
