Beaumaris Castle

Beaumaris Castle, Wales
Beaumaris Castle moat

Angelsey is in northwest Wales, an island, it can be reached by bridge over the Menai Straits. The building of Beaumaris began in 1295 and, though planned to be the largest King Edward I built, it was never finished.

This view of the moat attracted my attention so I took a photograph in order to paint it later. On researching Beaumaris on the Net, I found I was correct about this nice view as just about every photo exhibition to be found for this castle includes this view. Better bookmark my page because, if you're interested in castles in Wales, I'm going to send you off to another place where you are definitely going to get happily lost.
